HHV8 (Human Herpesvirus 8), also known as Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), is a gamma herpesvirus that can infect B cells, endothelial cells, and other cell types. It is mainly transmitted through saliva and is more common in immunocompromised individuals.
HHV8 is strongly associated with several malignancies, including Kaposi’s sarcoma, primary effusion lymphoma, and multicentric Castleman disease.
